·Your notes are guarded on the way to disk. Seed was the last app in the suite writing straight over its own files, so an autosave firing after a synced copy arrived could overwrite it without a word. The other version is kept beside the note and the save refuses.

·There is a visible way to make your first note. An empty garden offered no button at all — the only control that plants one was never on screen.

Fixed

·The window no longer flashes white when you close a sheet. It showed up on the first launch after an update, which is exactly when the What’s New card appears.

·“Planted a note” only appears when a note was planted. The confirmation used to fire while the write ran behind the scenes, so a garden on an unmounted drive told you your note was safe and then dropped it.

·A garden that isn’t there doesn’t open. Seed used to open a deleted or unmounted garden and let you type into it, drawing an ordinary empty garden while every note went nowhere. It shows where it last saw it, and offers to find it.

·An old copy of a garden can’t overwrite a newer backup. Restoring last month’s garden and letting Seed back it up destroyed the recent backup, because the ids matched and nothing else was checked.

·Renaming a garden folder no longer confuses the app about which files it has already seen.

·The menu-bar quick capture is gone. Planting a seed happens in Seed, where the note lands somewhere you can see it. Every quick note was always a normal note in your garden, so nothing you captured is affected.

Fixed

·Quitting never drops your last edit. Typing and pressing ⌘Q in the same half-second could silently lose that sentence, or a just-typed title. Everything pending is now written on the way out, and a failed save says so instead of quietly pretending.

·Hidden files can't hide your seeds. iCloud sometimes marks synced files as hidden; the garden, the archive scan, and the Espalier bridge now see them anyway.

·Sending seeds to a board can't corrupt it. The board file is written atomically, so a crash mid-write leaves the original untouched.

Notes open in place, status becomes a sort, and every note keeps its history.

·Notes open in place. A note expands right where it sits in the list and collapses back when you close it. The editor keeps one compact size at every length; the open note carries a faint wash of its own stage color.

·Version history. Open a note’s own history from the word count, see how it grew over time, read any past version, and revert to one with a single click (undo with ⌘Z).

·Compost. One quiet place for finished notes: Pruned on top, the ones you might want back, and Harvested below, the ones that graduated onward. A harvested note says where it went.

·Transplant to a Draught project. Grow a note into its own writing project — a folder with its own history, the note as the first draft, opened in Draught.

·Garden Backup. Point a garden at a folder and Seed keeps one complete, safe copy of everything, backing up automatically whenever that folder is connected.

·Status is a sort. The stage-pill row is gone. Choose Status in the sort menu and the list groups by stage in lifecycle order, Dormant sinking to the bottom.

·Editor polish. The writing area fills the whole card, the word count counts your writing rather than file details, and a fresh note reads as a Sprout again.

·Search-first capture. The search bar is the app: type to find a note, or press ⏎ to plant a new one with what you typed.

·Living categories. Seeds sort themselves into Sprout, Growing, Rooted, Wilting, and Dormant, each with its own colour, based on how you tend them.

·Transplant anywhere. Send notes to an Espalier board, or export them as TXT, Markdown, or Word (.docx).

·Your files, your folder. Notes are plain text files in a garden folder you choose. Open them in any editor, anytime.
